The Best Programming Advice I Ever Got

Tags: General

My publisher recently asked if I would participate in a series titled "The Best Programming Advice I Ever Got." It took only a split second to decide.

The gist is to put yourself in the shoes of a beginning developer and give them the advice you would have wanted to have. Some of the other authors who have participated are Obie Fernandez, Rob Pike, and Andrei Alexandrescu.

These are guys that have their own Wikipedia pages. It's truly an honor to be in their company.

Check out my advice here:

and from the other authors:

P.S. I know the grammarians are cringing from reading the construction "I Ever Got" but alas, it is what it is.
